COMMEMORATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE 2021

Every year the International Day of Peace is seen all throughout the planet on 21 September. The United Nations General Assembly has designated this day as a day dedicated to supporting peace principles by observing a 24-hour period of nonviolence and cease-fire.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE -2021

As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, we are motivated to think creatively and cooperatively about how to better assist everyone is recovering, building resilience, and transforming our world into one that is fairer, just, equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and healthy. The pandemic has been accompanied by an increase in stigma, discrimination, and hatred, all of which have resulted in more lives lost than saved: the infection assaults all without thinking often about where we are from for sure we have confidence in. When confronted with humanity's common enemy, we must remember that we are not the enemy of one another. We must make peace with one another to be able to recover from the pandemic's ravages.

COMMEMORATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE-2021

Pakistan Lions Youth Council (PLYC) commemorated “International Peace Day” on 4^th November 2021 at District Council Bahawalpur in collaboration with Bahawalpur Support Group (BSG) regarding peace promotion theme 2021 to promote world peace and harmony among diverse groups of society through awareness walk and seminar at the district level.

Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Mr. Irfan Ali Kathia participated in the event as chief guest to augment the National, provincial, and district government effort of Peace promotion

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT

• The participation of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur in the "International Day of Peace" celebration and the encouragement of the PLYC & Bahawalpur Support Group's peace initiatives is a significant success.
• The active involvement of BSG members and other district-based stakeholders is a significant accomplishment.
• Active participation of a broad set of major influentials from many schools of thought is a huge success.
• Members of the Bahawalpur Support Group (BSG) actively participated in the event regarding administrative responsibilities and also highlighted the theme of the Bahawalpur Support Group (BSG) regarding peace and harmony through speeches was a key highlight. 

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE PEACE 2021

Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur along with the representatives participated in a cake cutting ceremony on the eve of “Diwali” to express solidarity with the Hindu community/minorities and also congratulated them. And Lala Bahadur Chauhan (BSG Member) also presented a cultural “Ajrak” to Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur on behalf of the Hindu community. All the participants also participated in the district-level peace rally along with the deputy commissioner Bahawalpur.

Dr. Qaiser Javaid, Executive Director Pakistan Lions Youth Council while speaking at the event said that  "Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world" is the theme for the International Day of Peace in 2021. We on behalf of PLYC and Bahawalpur Support Group (BSG) welcome all of you to join the endeavors of Peace advancement by facing demonstrations of disdain, and by spreading sympathy, generosity, and trust notwithstanding the pandemic, and as we recuperate."

The event resulted in excellent coordination between BSG and the District Government, with both parties on the same page for the project's long-term viability. 

Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Mr. Irfan Ali Kathia thanked on behalf of the district government Bahawalpur to BahawalpurSupport Group members & Pakistan Lions Youth Council (PLYC) and ensured district government support and cooperation to jointly exterminate the cases of VE in the district.
